MarionundPhilippkl.jpgPhilipp Graf Stauffenberg was born on 31st of December 1960 as the youngest of 6 kids in Jettingen/Bavaria and grew up on the family estate.
Philipp is married to Marion (Stoof) and has 4 children (Johannes/1983, Anna-Katharina/1986, Alexandra/1999 and Antonia/2002)

Apprenticeship with Olympic champion Fritz Ligges (right)
preparing horses for sale, professional participation in show jumping competitions
responsible for the 6 stallions, the breeding stock and the preparation of the colts for their stallion career

1985 - 1987

start in the thoroughbred business, assistant manager of Gestut Hof Ittlingen for the Ostermann family
development of the stud, different longer spells in England, Ireland and first visits to thoroughbred sales

Beginning of the development of an own broodmare band together with his wife Marion under the name "GRAF UND GRAFIN STAUFFENBERG". Mares and young stock have been boarded mainly in England (Heatherwold Stud, Hilborough Stud and Warren Park Stud) and Ireland (Irish National Stud, Loughbrown Stud)

1999

Foundation of the stud at SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN as a home for the own breeding stock and serving as base for prepping and consigning to the major sales in Europe
